BACKGROUND

Alain Richard, born in 1968 in Belgium, discovered his passion for photography at a young age while spending time in his aunt's portrait studio in Germany. Setting up his first darkroom at the age of 12, he nurtured his love for imagery.

After obtaining his diploma from IATA, he delved into fashion photography, assisting industry giants in Paris and New York. In 1997, he embarked on his career as a photographer and director with a global campaign.

In 2000, Alain established Studio 202, a renowned photography studio in Belgium and Europe. He gained a reputation for perfectionism, contributing to international campaigns and appearing in publications such as Vogue USA, Vogue FR, W, DS Magazine, and Elle.

In 2014, he transitioned from fashion and advertising to focus on art and portrait photography. Alain specializes in using natural light, emphasizing simplicity, purity, and graphic elements to capture the essence of his subjects, avoiding artificial techniques.

Known for his large-format black and white photography, Alain's work is exhibited worldwide and is part of numerous collections. Based in Lisbon, he has recently created a new portrait studio that travels worldwide to meet demand while continuing to travel with his team.
